INERME 2025 Conference (Leeds, UK)

INERME’s mission is to develop and disseminate research in the field and to serve as a valuable platform offering practical and informal advice to educators concerned with mathematics in economics education.

Following the success of its inaugural conference at the University of Agder, Norway in January 2024, INERME hosted its second conference from 10-11 September 2025 at the University of Leeds, UK.

The main themes of the conference were:

  • The impact of artificial intelligence on learning and teaching in mathematics for economics
  • Assessment of mathematics in economics in the 21st century
  • Innovative approaches to teaching mathematics in economics
  • Mathematical competencies for economists
  • Other areas related to the mathematical education of economists.

The keynote address was given by Professor Duncan Lawson, MBE, co-director of the Sigma Mathematics Support Centre at Coventry University.
